It applies to all users, including Artists (who upload audio samples) and Users (who download samples).

- Mailing List Sign-Ups: If an Artist requires you to join their email marketing list to download a sample, we collect your email address, given names, location and favourite genre and share it with the Artist.
- Payment Information: If you make purchases (e.g., premium features, if offered), we collect payment details through third-party payment processors, but we do not store this information.
- Contact Information: If you contact us (e.g., via support@soundotter.com), we collect your name, email, and any information you provide.
2.2 Non-Personal Information
- Usage Data: We collect data about how you interact with the Platform, such as pages visited, samples downloaded, and features used.

- With Artists: If you download a sample from an Artist who requires mailing list sign-up, we share your email address, given names, location and favourite genre with that Artist for their email marketing purposes. Artists are responsible for complying with applicable laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR).
- Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors (e.g., hosting providers, analytics tools, payment processors) to operate the Platform. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information to comply with laws, respond to legal processes (e.g., subpoenas), or protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business Transfers: If Soundotter is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred to the new entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Artist Mailing Lists
When you download a sample from an Artist who requires a mailing list sign-up, your email address, given names, location and favourite genre is shared with that Artist. Artists are independent controllers of your data and must:
- Comply with email marketing laws, such as the CAN-SPAM Act and GDPR.
- Provide clear disclosures about adding you to their mailing list.
- Offer an unsubscribe option in all marketing emails.
Soundotter facilitates this process but is not responsible for Artists’ compliance with email marketing laws or their management of mailing lists. To unsubscribe from an Artist’s mailing list, follow the instructions in their emails or contact the Artist directly.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations.
